This is me ...

At 47, I’ve gained valuable insights from life’s challenges and the lessons they impart. I’ve learned to embrace adventure, growth, and happiness while balancing hard work with the joy of living fully. My passion is to guide your family in building resilience, navigating crises, and finding harmony during difficult times.

My professional journey  ...

Born into an entrepreneurial family in 1977, I always knew I was meant to lead. However, I quickly realized that I didn’t want to lead with an iron fist as previous generations had. I sought a different path—one that emphasized collaboration and empowerment. This passion led me to my career in adult workplace education, where I teach professionals how to effectively communicate, manage, and grow their teams.

After a successful 23-year executive career in the family seafood business, I faced a life-altering tragedy in 2019 when my 14-year-old daughter died by suicide. This devastating loss inspired me to retire from the industry and make a meaningful impact on my community. I founded Aidaen's Place, a youth wellness center, to address the critical need for mental health resources in our rural community. Despite having no prior experience in non-profits, I felt compelled to fill the void, and Aidaen's Place has since become a vital resource.

To support myself and Aidaen's Place, I became a certified Workplace Education Initiatives Instructor and an ESL Instructor. I also trained to facilitate suicide awareness workshops and offer resilience talks across Nova Scotia.

Recently, I earned certifications as an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) and Certified Resilience Coach (CRC)). My life experiences and personal resilience journey allow me to guid your through anything that has you stuck, knocked down, or feeling out of balance.

My Resilience Journey  ...

Born into an entrepreneurial family in 1977, I always felt destined to lead, but I was determined to do so differently from previous generations—through collaboration, empowerment, and a deep commitment to family connection. This passion guided my career in workplace education, where I taught professionals how to communicate effectively and build strong, supportive teams.

In 2019, my life took a devastating turn when my 14-year-old daughter died by suicide. This profound loss reshaped my perspective and ignited a deep desire to support families facing similar struggles. I founded Aidaen's Place, a youth wellness center focused on providing essential mental health resources for youth and their families in our rural area. Despite my lack of experience in non-profits, I felt compelled to establish a safe haven where families could find the support and healing they desperately needed.

After founding Aidaen's Place, I retired from the seafood business to create meaningful change in my community. My personal journey includes navigating a divorce in 2022, which deepened my understanding of family dynamics and the importance of resilience. During this transformation, I no longer hid my true self and met my girlfriend, who is now my life partner.

To further my impact, I became a certified Workplace Education Initiatives Instructor and an ESL Instructor, trained as a #safeTALK facilitator, and became an active speaker for youth suicide awareness. Collaborating closely with other youth organizations in the Tri-Counties, I work to save youth and rebuild family connections across Nova Scotia, emphasizing the power of community support in times of crisis.

Embracing My True Self  ...

I spent the first 23 years of my adult life prioritizing work over everything else, including myself. After years of battling undiagnosed mental health issues and experiencing personal losses, including my daughter’s suicide and my separation from my husband, I reached a turning point. These experiences gave me the courage to become my true self and embrace a life of balance, resilience, and self-care.

Today, I find joy in kayaking, hiking, off-grid camping, creating, reading, and writing. I’ve learned that resilience comes from rest and replenishment, and I prioritize my well-being to better serve my clients and community.

My promise to you ...

I promise to walk alongside you on your journey toward resilience and healing. Together, we will explore the challenges you face and uncover the strength within you and your family.

With compassion, understanding, and actionable strategies, I will empower you to navigate life's obstacles and foster deeper connections. My commitment is to provide a safe and supportive space where you can thrive and transform your family's dynamics, helping you create a brighter, more balanced future.
